The objective of the metro in Indore is to facilitate urban traffic and provide a pace to the city’s commute. The metro infrastructure in the city is built to provide a maximum speed of 90 km/h to the metro trains but by keeping passenger safety and security in mind, the authorities have set the limit of 80 km/h as a top speed for Indore Indore trains.

Indore Metro Trains Headway

Headway is the time between two successfully running trains or an interval between 3 successive running trains. As of now, Indore Metro Trains headway is decided for 90 seconds (1 minute 30 seconds) but it may eventually change as per the traffic requirement.

Indore Metro Trains Mode Of Operation

There are 2 modes of operating any train, Grade of Automation-2 and Grade of Automation-4. Let’s understand what are these types exactly.

  • Grade of Automation-2 (GOA-2) – Trains with the GOA-2 types are operated by a driver sitting in his cabin which will have all the controlling systems required to operate the train.
  • Grade of Automation-4 (GOA-4) – The Grade of Automation-4 is also called the Unattended Train Operation in which the train is operated without a driver and thus has an absence of a driver cabin. This is the most advanced system of railway automation as of now.

In Indore Metro trains, Grade of Automation-2 is planned by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited as of now, so the metro trains will be run by humans. In the future, we will also be able to experience Grade of Automation-4 soon.
