Indore Metro Project Planning
The whole Metro project consists of 11 Corridors out of which 5 Corridors have been approved by the Cabinet of the Central Government and if we consider only the current scenario then only 1 Corridor is under construction at this point in time. Let me explain the Indore Metro Project planning in more detail.
As I have told you that the 5 corridors have been approved and these all corridors are given names – Line 1A, Line 1B, Line 2, Line 3, and Line 4. And Line 3 is the corridor that is under construction now. So let’s understand more about Line 3.
Indore Metro Project First Phase
The construction work of line 3 lies under the Indore Metro Project first phase of the project. This Line 3 is also referred to as Yellow Line which will be 33.53 kilometers long and will connect Palasia to Bhawarsala.
While connecting Palasia to Bhawarsala, Line 3 corridor or Yellow Line corridor will include 30 Metro Stations and out of these 30 stations 24 will be on-ground while the remaining 6 will be underground.
The construction work of Yellow Line or Line 3 or First Phase or Priority Corridor is about to complete and the trial run is expected to start in September 2023 while it will be open for public use in August 2024.
Indore Metro Route
As I have shared some crucial pieces of information regarding the Indore Metro Project planning, I will only share the routes of Indore Metro that are approved. So let’s start with Line 1A.
Indore Metro Line 1A Route
(Sri Aurobindo Hospital – Indore Bypass 1)
Indore Metro Line 1A route will connect Sri Aurobindo Hospital to Indore Bypass 1. This route will with a total of 18 stations but the construction work does not begin yet, thus can be considered yet that how many stations will be elevated and underground.
Indore Metro Line 1B Route
(Sri Aurobindo Hospital – Regional Park)
Indore Metro Line 1B Route will connect Sri Aurobindo Hospital to Regional Park. This route will include 13 Metro Stations and later we will know how many stations will be elevated and underground.
Indore Metro Line 2 Route
(Dewas Naka – Mhow)
Indore Metro Line 2 Route will connect Dewas Naka to Mhow with a total of 27 elevated and underground metro stations. The construction of Line 2 is also not started yet.
Indore Metro Line 3 Route
(Palasia – Bhawarsala)
Indore Metro Line 3 Route will connect Palasia to Bhawarsala with a total of 24 elevated metro stations and 6 underground metro stations. The construction of Line 3 or Yellow Line is fairly completed and a trial run will also start soon. Yellow line corridor is a 33.53 km long ring line.
Indore Metro Line 4 Route
(MR9 – Indore Bypass 4)
Indore Metro Line 4 Route will connect MR9 to Indore Bypass 4. This route will include 15 metro stations but the number of elevated and underground stations can not be considered at this time.
