Owner

Indore is situated in Madhya Pradesh while Agra is situated in Uttar Pradesh. In India whenever a metro project is planned, an organization between the respective state government and central government is formed with an equal partnership of 50-50% for the proper planning, implementation, development, and operations of the metro project.

The government of Madhya Pradesh state established Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited for the successful implementation of the Indore Metro Project and Bhopal Metro Project. MPMRCL owns both the metro networks and is responsible for the operations as well.

Whereas, the Agra Metro Project is owned and operated by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited which is a joint venture between the UP Government and Central Government formed for the successful planning of metro networks in UP state.

Number Of Corridors

Indore Metro Rail Project includes a total of 11 metro routes or corridors in its whole planning out of which 5 corridors are approved. Out of these 5 corridors, as we can see one corridor is under construction which is named Line 3 or Yellow Line or Priority Corridor.

Agra Metro Rail Project has one operational corridor as of now and further extension is under construction as of now. This line’s name is Yellow Line while another line named Blue Line will be part of Agra Metro soon as it is in its planning stage as of now.

Length Of Metro System

The whole Indore Metro System will be a total of 124 km in length with all its 11 corridors and in the first phase of implementation, a route of 33.53 km in length is under construction which is the priority corridor and will be operational soon.

The Agra Metro Project will be 29.67 km long in its first phase of implementation out of which a 6 km long route has been operational since March 2024 and the rest is under construction.
