Number Of Corridors

Indore Metro Project whole planning includes a total number of 11 corridors. Out of these 11, 5 corridors have been approved by the Cabinet of the Central Government of India and as of now, what we are seeing under development stage is the first corridor. This first corridor or priority corridor lenghted 33.53 kilometers is the first phase of Indore Metro Rail Project development.

Bhopal Metro Rail Project has planned 6 corridors in its complete planning which will cover a total distance of 104.87 kilometres across the city. Out of these 6, 2 are approved while 1 is under construction. The first phase of the Bhopal Metro Project consists of 28 km which is currently under construction now.

Line Names

Indore Metro Project’s approved 5 corridors or lines are named Line 1A, Line 1B, Line 2, Line 3, and Line 4 and what we are seeing under the development stage is Line 3 which is also named as Yellow Line.

Bhopal Metro Project’s approved corridors or lines are named Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4, Line 5, and Line 6. Approved lines are Line 2 and Line 5 while Line 5 is under construction which is also named as Orange Line.

Length

The whole Indore Metro Rail Project consists of 124 kilometers while the Bhopal Metro Project will cover a total distance of 104.87 kilometers. As of now, the under-development metro corridor of Indore will cover a distance of 33.53 kilometers while Bhopal will cover 28 kilometers.

Number Of Stations

The priority corridor of Indore has listed 29 stations on its route that will connect Palasia to Bhawarsala in a ring-like structure while the priority corridor of Bhopal includes 28 stations on its route to enhance the quality of transportation across the cities.

Trial Run

The trial run of priority corridor in Indore was conducted on 30 September 2023 on a 6.3 km route while Bhopal also conducted a 4 km trial run on 3 October 2023.

Budget

Indore Metro Rail Project cost is estimated to be around Rs 15,000 Crore while Bhopal Metro project is estimated to be around Rs 9,000 Crore. Both the numbers are estimated and has been provided as per the details available on the Internet, we do not claim this number.

Similarities In Indore Metro And Bhopal Metro

MPMRCL has given the order of 52 movia metro trains to Alstom worth Rs 32,00 Crore. Out of these 52, 27 will serve the public of Bhopal while 25 trains will serve the public of Indore.
