Stay tuned with us till the end to learn about this Indore Metro and Hyderabad Metro comparison that will be majorly based on the length of the metro network, types of tracks, metro train length, type of electrification, etc. So let’s get started without wasting any time.

Owner

The ownership of the metros is one of the biggest differences between Indore Metro and Hyderabad Metro. Let me explain to you why. In India, whenever a metro project is planned, an organization is formed between the State Government and Central Government with an equal partnership of 50-50%.

Indore Metro case is also similar. Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited is a joint venture between MP and Central Governments formed for the proper planning, construction, and operation but this is a different case in Hyderabad Metro.

In Hyderabad Metro, a majority stake of 90% is owned by A special purpose vehicle company, L&T (Larsen & Toubro) while only 10% stakes are owned by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Length Of Metro System

In the Indore Metro network, there are a total of 11 corridors are planned and 5 corridors are approved by the government named Line 1A, Line 1B, Line 2, Line 3, and Line 4. Hence the length of the whole Indore Metro network will be 124 km. As of now, Line 3 is under construction which is a 33.53 km long route.

If we talk about the Hyderabad Metro network length then the 278 km length is approved by the Cabinet out of that 71.1 km is operational as of now and the rest is under survey while the DPR (Detailed Project Report) for 63 km route is already submitted.

Train Length

Indore Metro trains will be 3 to 6 coaches long. The metro train length is decided based on need and demand. In Hyderabad, Metro trains are also 3-car trains.

Train Speed

In my opinion, train length and train speed directly depend on the daily ridership. As much as the ridership needs to increase, the speed of the train is set at high speed in order to decrease the time for headways so that commuters can reach out their destination on time and do not have to be late due to the crowding.

In Indore, the metro trains will be allowed to run on the train at an average speed of 44 km/h and at a top speed of 90 km/h while in Hyderabad the metro trains will be allowed to run on the tracks at an average speed of 35-4- km/h and at a top speed of 80 km/h.
