Indore Metro Vs Jaipur Metro - A Fascinating Comparison Between 2 Metros

Jaipur has been a metro city since 2015 while the metro in Indore is still the under-development stage. This huge gap in construction time must have led to so many differences between Jaipur Metro and Indore Metro. So here we will point them out and see some key points for the comparison between Indore Metro and Jaipur Metro based on metro routes, metro length, trains, tracks, electrification, etc. So let’s get started without wasting any time.

Owner

All the metro projects in India have full financial and operational support from the Central Government of India and to make it more effective, whenever a state plans to introduce metro in its cities a government organization is formed between the respective state government and central government with 50-50% based partnership and this organization is considered the owner and operator of the allotted metro projects in that state.

Indore Metro Rail Project comes under the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited which is a joint venture between MP Government and Central Government and is responsible for the development and operations of metro projects in Indore and Bhopal.

Whereas, the Jaipur Metro Rail Project comes under the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Limited which is a state-owned company established for the successful development and operations of the metro in Jaipur.

Number Of Corridors

The whole planning of the Indore Metro Project includes a total of 11 corridors webbing across the city but as of now only 5 corridors named Line 1A, Line 1B, Line 2, Line 3, and Line 4 but the construction began for only one corridor in the first phase of the implementation. This corridor is Line 3 which is also named the Yellow Line.

If we talk about the Jaipur Metro then, in this first implementation, Jaipur laid the Pink Line which has been operational since 2015 and the planning of the Orange Line is ongoing in the second phase of the implementation.

Length Of Metro System

If we include, all the 11 metro routes in the Indore Metro Project then the length of the whole system will be 124 km and the priority corridor which is being constructed in the city now is consisted of 33.53 km.

Currently operational route of Jaipur Metro is the Pink Line which is an 11.97 km long corridor while its extensions are also planned for the future. The other planned Orange Line will be a 23.099 km long corridor.

The length of the metro system makes the biggest differentiative point in this comparison between Indore Metro and Jaipur Metro.

Train Length

Indore Metro trains are expected to be 3 to 6 coaches long while Jaipur Metro trains are 4 coaches long. The length of the train in every metro system is decided as per the need which is ultimately calculated by the population of the city and that is why the number of coaches varies in metro trains from city to city.
