Alstom will be responsible for the manufacture, installation, and testing of 52 Movia Trains and each train will have 3 cars. As per the reports, Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has awarded this order to Alstom for Rs 32,00 Crore and the company will also provide 15 years of maintenance in both the cities, Indore and Bhopal.
Madhya Pradesh Metro Train order also includes Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling system and train control and telecommunication systems and the company will also provide seven years of maintenance for each system.
Alstom has a global partner Knorr Bremse which is the most popular company for manufacturing braking systems in trains and for the Madhya Pradesh Metro Train order of 52 Movia trains, Knorr Bremse is responsible for the installation of the braking system and climate control system.

Madhya Pradesh Metro Train Order Status
MPMRC awarded Alstom with a Rs 32,00 Crore worth 156 Movia Metro train cars manufacturing order in July 2022 for the Indore and Bhopal metro systems. The first train set of 3 metro coaches for the Indore-Bhopal metro was delivered on 31 August 2023 from Sanand, Gujarat to Gandhi Nagar station of Indore.
Apart from that, as per the reports, the two new train sets are expected to be received by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation for the Indore and Bhopal Metro Projects in the month of December.
The progress of the Metro system in both cities is at a high pace. Multiple safety runs and trial runs have been conducted while the remaining are set to be conducted at the decided timeline.

Indore Metro & Bhopal Metro Train Details
As per the order by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, 52 metro trains are ordered, out of which, 27 trainsets will serve the Bhopal Metro line of 30 km length consisting of 30 stations while the rest 25 trainsets will serve the Indore Metro system of 31.5 km length consisting of 29 metro stations.
The top speed for lightweight metro trains in Madhya Pradesh is set for 80 km/h.
Alstom Metro Train Manufacturing Projects in India
Before, the Indore-Bhopal joint order, Alstom also got such same order for the Agra-Kanpur Metro Projects. Till now, Alstom has successfully delivered Movia metro trainsets to Delhi, London, Stockholm, and Singapore.
If we consider the current scenario, Alstom is currently manufacturing trains for Agra-Kanpur, Mumbai Metro Line 3, and the Delhi-Meerut RRTS project.
