Kolkata Metro system is the only metro system in India controlled by the Indian Railway and completely owned and funded by the Ministry of Railway. Later in 2008, Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited was formed but still, the majority stake is owned by India Railway. 

Corridors

There are a total of 11 corridors have been planned in the Indore Metro Project full report but only 5 are approved as of now and what we are seeing being constructed across the city is the 1 corridor also named as the priority corridor or Yellow Line or Line 3. The metro is expected to be operational in Indore till August 2024 and the construction will keep continue in phases.

As of now, Blue Line has been fully operational since 1984 while Green Line, Purple Line, and Orange Line are partially operational and Green Line, Purple Line, Yellow Line, Pink Line, and Orange Line are under construction as well.

Metro systems are huge infrastructures and thus need to be developed in phases for better execution. Both the metros will keep planning extensions because of the need for public convenience.
